DIS proudly participated in the digital event “Greece in the Digital Decade: Where we are and what still needs to be done,” organized by SEV. This important online event took place on January 31.
The event featured the latest findings from the BSE Observatory on Greece’s digital maturity and offered targeted recommendations for the nation’s rapid progression in the digital arena. The ensuing discussions primarily focused on businesses, evaluating their technological readiness and suggesting measures to hasten their digital transformation.
We are delighted to report that our CEO and President, Mr. Panagiotis Kyriakopoulos, represented DIS at this prestigious event, participating in the first panel discussion.
Mr. Kyriakopoulos shared his insights on the main challenges businesses face in planning their future in the digital era. He emphasized that the future of a company is shaped by its leadership team’s strategic decisions, with technology being the foundation for implementing these strategies. Key challenges discussed included resistance to change, balancing competitive priorities, limited resources, and the lack of digital skills in many SMEs. Mr. Kyriakopoulos also highlighted the motivations for firms to invest in digital transformation, such as growth, market opportunities, competitive advantage, and the need to adopt innovative technologies.
This event was an insightful exploration of the challenges and opportunities faced by Greek businesses in their digital journey. Furthermore, it highlighted specific state-of-the-art technological applications that can enhance business competitiveness and align them with European standards.
DIS is committed to playing an active role in digital transformation and was excited to contribute to this important conversation.
